Orphaned Exchange Server Object  In Best Practices Analyser
Hi There, We removed one of our Exchange 2007 servers from our organisation using the MS approved way i.e. using add/remove programs but the server object is still there in AD and Best Practice analyser is obviously picking it up because of this. The server does NOT show up in the EMC though. Can I simply delete the object from AD using ADSIedit? Also, when running the BPA I ticked the box to run a performance baseline thinking it would take 2 hours but it finished in 2 minutes instead - should I be unduly worried?

Yea...it might leave some unwanted entries in AD. I would suggest to log a call with CSS and get them to assist you out just in case something happen but you can go into ADSIedit to remove the object.

As the exchange 2007 is already out of the picture and you dont need that any ways, its safe to delete the server objecy from ADSI. Make sure you replcate all the DC's and might need to reboot the schema master once.Raj

Agree with Rajnish, since the Exchange 2007 has been removed successfully, you don't need to take care of it.And about performance baseline finished in 2 minutes, it seems like a bug. Please see the answer in this post:http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/exchangesvrmigration/thread/52377e69-86b9-4d58-a8f5-ad12cd3895bbFrank Wang
